It's a new school year at Sangamon Valley and there are a lot of new and exciting changes that this year will bring. As we usher in a new Senior class for their final year of high school, we welcome a new group of Freshmen to The Valley. Maintenance has been hard at work this summer to get The Valley ready for another year, and this summer was no different.
Around the building, a lot of new improvements were made. Some rooms got new air conditioners in the senior hallways as well as a new phone and intercom system and copy machine system. We also got new sidewalks at the High School campus, and they really accent the new school sign and landscaping that Ms. Cowan's Ag classes completed. Although the new green house has not been completed, construction has begun and the foundation is set and ready to erect the new structure for the Ag program. The concession stand saw a major update as Mr. Meadows and the maintenance team worked hard to strip the building down to the studs and reconstruct it, adding more space and storage as well as giving the building a much needed face lift.
Come on out Friday to the scrimmage to see the STORM Football team in action and get a hot dog from the concession stand. Enjoy the band playing some pep tunes and the cheerleaders getting back into the swing of things to kick off the STORM Football season.
